my directx is 11 and even so it stays with the black screen.

Got stuck in the room where you have to run past the pizza press and the grabbing hand to get a topping in Factory Level. I'd like to have an option to "Save and quit", maybe, so I don't have to play through up to this point again (and I'm also not sure I know what to do there. Maybe the timing is too tough for me.

Really love the art style, nice oldskool cartoon with an attitude. Non-linear level are good too, though it appears I don't understand the mechanics to get into some places (like crawling through a tight passage against the conveyor belt).

I have an error message as soon as I launch the game :/
here's the error screen:

download direct x 9 or update your current direct x

Thanks! It worked

I'm the only one here, lol

download directX

This game is amazing! Mostly for the very charming animations, but also it's just plain fun. Aye pisano I'm walkin' here!

HAHA the main character looks like Willi Tokarev

Hey ! First of all I didn't encounter any bugs during this demo.
Now my opinion, concerning the graphics, I find it pretty and original the colorful way as well as the animations of the enemies as well as that of the character we control. After the musical level, I love it! Maybe due to my love for Warioland whose style is very similar (A little normal since the game takes on a lot of the aspect of a Warioland). A small criticism I could make on this demo is the lack of difficulty. (SPOILER: I really like the way the level ends, with the "boss" who is just a simple enemy who is swept away with a simple punch).

So for me this demo is very good even if there is a lack of difficulty and it will be a favorite with Warioland fans. :)

I have the same problem, man.

Hello, I downloaded the update and tried launching it but when it's done loading it just shows a black screen with the title music playing.

Do you have any idea on how to fix this?

funny :D

New demo so made a new video

I have to say that I love this game so much. I thin I have been looking for this game for a very long time and I'm so glad to finally have found it. Thank you for making it. Here's a video of my first impressions of the game.

good

I'd love to say that this games design is very unique indeed and very brilliant. Smooth af animation and the actions and all that jazz reminds me so much of Wario Land 4, (PS- which is one of my favourite games so this game touches at home ;) ) Level design is cool and i remember each room as they were, so when i complete the level and have to escape i know which way to go.

I cant really think of anything thats bad about this game, other than me trying my best to get use to the controls aha.

Cant wait to see more! Definitely going to buy when its available instantly!

I love this game, I will pay to play the full version when it comes out.

KEEP IT UP, BRO :)

Hey PZT dev, let me begin with saying I absolutely love what you're making, *especally* the art you create (it truely brings a smile to me face), even after the dimension that may shake (*cough* I don't know similar I can get), the game you are making is like a beautiful continuation of that kind of game design I really appreciate.

Now, if I may be so bold, and with it considered that I have played the 2.0 (was it?) Halloween Demo is to recommend some slight improvements:
1) The "harmful" block types went from spikes to... some kinda of electrical outlet? Maybe you're trying to seperate yourself from some kinda of established series *cough*, but might I recommend it is clearer what might remove the knight powerup. Maybe make that block type more dangerous, and also force the player to hit it with knight power, teaching them it is okay to hit in these circumstances?

2) Likewise, when attempting the challenge level for the ancient tower, it took me longer than I care to admit that it was safe to stand on the pillars to avoid sliding down the slope. Maybe some of the pizza topping powerups could be used to incentise the player and teach them it's a safe point? Maybe clearer labeling this is a safe area to stand (maybe let the player walk across a couple to understand it's a solid surface?)

I would love to comment on the Factory level but I haven't played it yet (feel free to disregard everything I say), but I absolutely adore what you are doing, I didn't realise I was craving this type of game until I played your demo (might I suggest keeping your original level as a tutorial level, I feel it was designed very efficiently).

Now, things that are personal to me: I noticed some samples in the music. I understand why, I just wanted to say, that maybe if the sounds were deeper and lower pitched, it might sound nicer. I'm no music theorist, but the old samples where quite nice to me, maybe if you make it lower it might sound nice as well? Again this is my personal opinion.

Regardless of everything, to reiterate I love what you are doing, and regardless of what you do (except changing everything about the gamelay), you definitely have a fan in me. Keep up the awesome work.

One of the most phenomenal 2D platformers I've played in ages. Stunned by how smooth and satisfying the gameplay was!

Just FYI, text does not draw properly on 16:10 monitors.

Awesome game! I was so surprised by how polished it is. Can't wait for more.

I got stuck where u had to run top speed and press up. i figured it out but jump is Z and i was told jump so it was a bit hard to figure out

Be sure to download or update to the latest version of Direct X or else the game will crash when you go at max speed!!

This may sound a bit stupid, but I accidentally mapped every button to Z, I just mashed through thinking "Oh yeah I can change it later", but after 2 deletions of the game files, it just goes straight to the game and mashes Z without me touching anything? I tried f1 but it just goes straight to the game before input is possible. Help me Peppino!

However, I did try the older demo and loved it, so I assume this demo is great too! :)

if that happens you need to delete your save file in AppData under "Pizza Tower". Its hard to find but it usually goes under C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Pizza_Tower. AppData is a hidden file.

Couldn't stop playing.. This game is so much fun!!!

I stumbled upon this game on twitter. I absolutely love the art and animation, and playing through the demo was suuuper fun. This game has a lot of personality

The game's looking fantastic, although I hope a mac version is being considered and potentially added in a future update.

As an avid fan of Wario Land games and Ren & Stimpy-esque animation, this game makes for a holy grail for sure. Just finished my 2nd run (went from B-ok to A-nice), and the whole backtracking part kicks me right in the nostalgia. Even the soundtrack is based on WL4, so props to the sound guys as well. Running around looks hilarious and feels great, especially with the small wallclimbs so you don't lose your momentum.

This game is really promising, though I'd like to make a few suggestions;

  • While slapping and throwing enemies around looks great, having to stand still to attack slows down the flow of the game a bit too much. As speed is one of the main focus points in this game, I'd like to see some moves which combines the two a bit more; maybe a body slam out of a dash or an attack that ends into a run?
  • Running around max speed feels great, but some rooms don't allow for sharper turns. Maybe this was intentional, but this could be frustrating during the backtracking parts where there are enemies around since the player loses the dash attack and can't really afford to stand still for the standard attack.
  • I love the idea of WL's not being able to die but dropping you back in a level. While this is the first boss, the arena is generously large and could be slightly smaller

Other than that, I really dig this game. Once I heard the tutorial music, I was sold. Haven't encountered any bugs as well, so great job!

it's either a problem with DirectX or your GPU in general.

Nah, my computer runs other games fine.

ok than it's DirectX. Try updating it.

Thank you frosty boy that worked! Im still getting weird graphical glitches but it doesn't crash. Anyway this game rules! I love that you don't die.

The animations and music are fantastic.

It was a very good game. I thought it had a unique concept and very good animations. wold definetly pay for a full release

Made a video

just watched trailer - looks really really nice, reminds me about adventure island series from NES and also about Cuphead

THIS IS AMAZING! is this based off of warioland 4?

(+1)(-1)

the animations and gameplay are fun to look at and the feel of the gameplay and soundtrack is definitely there. However, I think that the level layouts can be a bit confusing (what with a lot of backtracking) and could benefit from some rearrangement. Also, Some areas can't be accessed if the players make a mistake - if that is the intention, then that's fine. The throwing mechanics could probably maybe benefit from some tutorials, and it's a mild annoyance that the slap forces you to stay in one place. Overall, however, I enjoyed the game for its simplicity and ease, with a cheesy feel that actually made me consider getting a pizza.
